Tasks

The project was commissioned by the international concern YIT.

About the project

The existing volume is a 4-storey building with a basement, designed in the art nouveau style.

On the left side, a newly erected 6-storey building adjoins it, visually crushing it, as a result of which the customer had a desire to increase the volume by erecting another floor and an attic.

Several options were proposed for the reconstruction of the building in the following styles: Empire (expressing conceptually the connection of the bank's names with the stylistics of the volume), modern and minimalism.

As a result, the choice was made for a minimalist style. A memorable image is created by combining two tones in the decoration of the travertine facade, which makes it possible to get away from the standard grid of windows.

The central entrance to the bank is accentuated by punching stained glass windows to the entire height of the building, and thanks to the deepening of the built-in floors deep into the building and the use of a sloping roof of the attic, it is possible to avoid the bulkiness of the building and not block the windows in the next one.

As a result of the reconstruction, the total area increased, the building acquired a modern, appropriate to the spirit of the time, while decorating and successfully fitting into the existing building, while avoiding bulkiness.
